Summary
Activities
- Planned: Threshold tune 1:15, road, in Severn, ON, with 2 x 5 min at 95-100% FTP plus 3 x 15 sec accelerations. If fatigue is present, reduce to 1 x 5 min and 2 accelerations.
Coach Luca
- Composition time: 06:30 America/Edmonton, athlete-local 08:30 America/Toronto.
- Readiness state: Unconfirmed.
- Specialist participation decided before drafting: recovery, nutrition, and endurance consulted; strength not consulted because today's prescription is bike-only with no same-day gym or separate orthopedic loading decision.
Readiness
No overnight or same-morning athlete check-in was visible after the most recent saved evening-summary evidence, and there is still no direct confirmation of how Saturday's final gravel ride or Sunday's follow-on recovery were absorbed. The current-day canonical log did not yet exist, so the most recent canonical daily log, 2026-06-21, was used for Recovery and Nutrition review; both ## Recovery and ## Nutrition are empty there, so specialist input is stale for readiness purposes. Travel is stable in Severn, ON, and Hashimoto's plus back or SI watch items were checked with no new symptom report surfaced.
Planning
Monday stays conservative inside the taper-week outline and today's calendar entry: threshold tune only for 1:15, with the written fatigue fallback carried forward directly. Because readiness is unconfirmed, there is no load escalation, the session stays exactly at the planned tune, and the athlete note directs an immediate downgrade to 1 x 5 min plus 2 accelerations if the warm-up or first rep does not feel clean. Today's standalone nutrition plan file athlete/logs/daily-nutrition/2026-06-22.md is absent, so brief fueling guidance was included directly in the athlete note.
Evidence
Required read order completed before drafting. Inbound athlete-message review since the prior evening-summary evidence found no overnight or early-morning check-in; the most recent visible inbound messages remain the June 19 synthetic delegation tests and the June 17 greeting, both already assessed as non-actionable. Recovery and Nutrition review used the most recent canonical daily log, 2026-06-21, because today's log did not yet exist; both sections are empty there, so there is no fresh same-morning specialist signal. athlete/rolling-7-day.md is stale for this date, ending on 2026-06-12, so it was read as required but the current 3-week outline plus today's calendar entry were used to resolve the June 22 prescription. The morning-plan skill names athlete/travel-schedule.md, but the canonical travel source in this workspace is athlete/context/travel-schedule.md, which keeps the athlete in Severn, ON through June 22 and on travel to Edmonton and Cochrane on June 23. The most recent visible canonical evening summary remains 2026-06-03, so prior-evening context is materially stale. The 2026-06-22 weekly self-assessment preparation file was also reviewed and reinforced the open questions around Saturday ride absorption, taper freshness, and any lingering back, SI, ankle, or general heaviness. Open-Meteo geocoding and forecast fetches for Severn, ON and fallback Orillia, ON did not return usable forecast data this morning, so the athlete-facing note records weather as unavailable rather than guessing.

Morning plan
Today's Plan
**Readiness:** Unconfirmed, no same-morning check-in and no direct confirmation of how Saturday's key ride and Sunday recovery were absorbed.
**Today's plan:**
Threshold tune on road, 1:15. After a full warm-up, ride 2 x 5 min at 95 to 100% FTP with 5 min easy between, then 3 x 15 sec fast accelerations with full recovery. If legs feel flat or heavy, reduce to 1 x 5 min and 2 accelerations, then keep the rest aerobic.
**Fueling:**
Start fed. If breakfast is more than 2 hours before the ride, take 30 to 45 g carbohydrate 20 to 30 min before rolling. During the ride, use 60 to 75 g/hr with one bottle, all familiar products. Get carbohydrate plus protein in soon after.
**Weather:** unavailable
Keep the route simple and let the warm-up decide whether you stay with the full tune or use the reduced version.
**Monitor:**
Back or SI tightness, unusual heaviness, or any energy drop that shows up before the first threshold rep. If any of that is more than mild, switch to the reduced version and keep the rest controlled.

Weekly self-assessment
Hey Sidney — quick weekly check-in on the taper week.
What stood out most from Friday's final gravel ride — what felt good, what felt flat, and how the fueling sat.
How did the body feel over the next day or two — sleep, heaviness, soreness, back/SI/ankle, appetite, and general freshness.
Anything I should account for as we head into travel and race week in Cochrane, especially around fueling, GI tolerance, or equipment?
A short reply is fine.
