Summary

Activities

  • Planned: Pre-race openers, 0:50-1:00 on road in Cochrane, AB, easy progressive ride with 3 x 1 min at 100-105% FTP, then 3 x 12 sec fast openers with full recovery. Optional 0:08-0:10 very light activation before or after.

Coach Luca

  • Composition time: 06:30 America/Edmonton, athlete-local 06:30 America/Edmonton.
  • Readiness state: Unconfirmed.
  • Specialist participation decided before drafting: recovery, nutrition, and endurance consulted; strength not consulted because today's prescription is a short opener ride plus optional very light activation, with no separate gym loading decision.

Readiness

No overnight or same-morning athlete check-in was visible after the most recent saved evening-summary evidence, and there is no fresh confirmation of how yesterday's race-prep day was absorbed overnight. The current-day canonical log did not yet exist, so the most recent canonical daily log, 2026-06-25, was used for Recovery and Nutrition review; ## Recovery, ## Strength, and ## Nutrition are empty there, so specialist input is stale for same-morning readiness purposes. Travel schedule and today's calendar confirm the athlete is in Cochrane, AB for Ghost of the Gravel race week, and Hashimoto's plus back or SI watch items were checked with no new symptom report surfaced.

Planning

Today stays fully inside the race-week support intent and the dated calendar entry: a short opener ride only, no extra volume, and no makeup recon. Because readiness is unconfirmed and the race is tomorrow, the athlete note keeps the ride at the conservative end of the planned range, preserves the scheduled opener structure, and adds no extra load. The standalone nutrition plan file athlete/logs/daily-nutrition/2026-06-26.md is absent, so concise fueling guidance was included directly in the athlete note.

Evidence

Required read order completed before drafting. Inbound athlete-message review found no overnight or early-morning readiness check-in for today. Recovery and Nutrition review used the most recent canonical daily log, 2026-06-25, because today's log was missing; both sections are empty, so there is no fresh same-morning specialist signal. athlete/rolling-7-day.md is stale for this date and does not cover June 26, so it was read as required but the current 3-week outline plus today's calendar entry were used to resolve the prescription. The morning-plan skill names athlete/travel-schedule.md, but the canonical travel source in this workspace is athlete/context/travel-schedule.md, which confirms June 24 to June 28 in Cochrane, AB for Ghost of the Gravel race week. The most recent visible canonical evening summary remains 2026-06-05, so prior-evening context is materially stale. Weather was fetched for Cochrane, AB via Open-Meteo after location confirmation; current conditions at 06:30 were clear and cool, with a day forecast of 20.6°C / 8.3°C and light shower risk later.

Morning plan

Today's Plan

**Readiness:** Unconfirmed, no same-morning check-in and specialist input is stale, so keep this strictly to the planned opener work.

**Today's plan:**
Pre-race openers, 50 to 60 min on road. Ride easy progressive, then 3 x 1 min at 100 to 105% FTP with 3 min easy between, then 3 x 12 sec fast openers with full recovery. Finish feeling better than you started. No extra volume and no makeup recon. Optional 8 to 10 min very light activation before or after only if it helps.

**Fueling:**
Start topped up, with a familiar carb-based breakfast and fluids. If the ride is more than 90 min after breakfast, add 20 to 30 g easy carbohydrate before rolling. One bottle with electrolytes is enough; during the ride, use a small familiar carb source only if you want it for routine, not to chase intake. Keep the rest of the day carb-forward, low risk, and familiar.

**Weather:**
Cochrane, AB 🌦️
21°C / 8°C, light rain showers

Cool and dry early, light wind at the start, with a small shower chance later in the day.
Ride early if possible, dress for a cool rollout, and keep the session tidy and controlled.

**Monitor:**
Back or SI stiffness, unusual leg heaviness, or anything in the opener efforts that does not come around quickly. If any of that is more than mild, keep the ride easy and shorten it.
