Summary
- Morning plan saved for an Unconfirmed recovery day.
Activities
- Planned: Recovery day, no structured training, optional easy walk or gentle mobility only, Orillia, ON.
Coach Luca
- Composition time: 06:30 America/Edmonton, athlete-local 08:30 America/Toronto.
- Readiness state: Unconfirmed.
- Specialist participation decided before drafting: recovery consulted; nutrition not consulted because today's note only needs a trivial rest-day eating reminder and no standalone nutrition plan exists for today; endurance not consulted because today's dated plan is a rest day with no session-execution decision; strength not consulted because there is no same-day gym prescription or movement-loading decision.
Readiness
No same-morning athlete check-in is visible, no fresh recovery specialist note is present in the current canonical daily logs, and yesterday's absorb ride outcome is still unconfirmed. Sleep, perceived freshness, illness and immune status, travel disruption, non-training stress, Hashimoto's watch items, previous-day session outcome, and nutrition-hydration concerns were checked against the available evidence. No direct illness, injury, travel, or Hashimoto's flare signal surfaced, but the evidence gap is too large to classify the day as Green, so readiness stays Unconfirmed. Because today's written plan is already a recovery day, the athlete note keeps the day simple and fully restorative.
Planning
Today's operative written prescription comes from athlete/calendar/2026-07-27.md, which sets a recovery day with no structured training and only optional easy walk or gentle mobility. Because readiness is unconfirmed and there is no new evidence on how the July 26 ride landed, the athlete note does not add any optional training progression. No standalone nutrition plan exists at athlete/logs/daily-nutrition/2026-07-27.md, so the athlete note keeps nutrition guidance to a concise rest-day reminder only.
Evidence
Required read order completed before drafting. Athlete identity and communication routing were confirmed from the current profile, communications profile, and delivery configuration: Sidney McGill, preferred Sidney, username sidney, with Telegram configured as the delivery channel. Inbound athlete-message review found no overnight or early-morning July 27 check-in, question, complaint, or newer location signal, and the most recent visible athlete-origin update remains the July 16 air-quality self-check-in. Recovery review used the most recent canonical daily log, 2026-07-26, because today's log did not yet exist; no fresh same-morning recovery specialist input is visible there, and the most recent recovery content is yesterday's coordinator-consolidated note, so yesterday's actual ride response remains unconfirmed. Nutrition review used the most recent canonical daily log, 2026-07-26; its ## Nutrition section contains only a coordinator-consolidated ride-basics note, so there is still no fresh same-morning fueling or hydration signal. athlete/rolling-7-day.md and athlete/rolling-3-week.md were read as required but both remain stale June planning context, so they were treated as background rather than current control documents. The morning-plan skill names athlete/travel-schedule.md, but the canonical travel source in this workspace is athlete/context/travel-schedule.md, which confirms Orillia, ON as the current base through August 2 and no active travel disruption. The most recent canonical evening summary remains 2026-06-03, so prior-evening context is materially stale. After the required reads, the dated calendar file athlete/calendar/2026-07-27.md was checked to confirm today's recovery-day prescription. Weather was then fetched for Orillia, ON via Open-Meteo after location confirmation; at 08:30 EDT it was 19.8°C, clear, and 4.9 km/h wind, and the day forecast is 29.2°C / 16.7°C with showers arriving late, 49 percent precipitation probability, and max wind about 22.7 km/h. Because this is a rest-day note, weather only affects timing and comfort of any optional walk or mobility and does not change the no-structured-training prescription.
Endurance
Coach Luca ride review: 2026-07-26 actual vs planned (16:01)
Live TrainingPeaks readback (workout 3833245100) confirms the July 26 absorb ride was not ridden as planned. Planned: 1:45 easy endurance, ~45 km, TSS 77, IF 0.665, Z2 65-72% FTP. Actual: 5:07, 174.2 km, 1,663 m climbing, TSS 295.8, IF 0.76, avg 176 W, NP 198 W, avg HR 152, 84 rpm, 3,606 kcal. NP sat at the very top of Z2 (ceiling 197 W) for over five hours. This is the largest single-day load of the season.
Pattern context: Saturday July 25, the week's targeted session (3:30 long ride with 2 x 20 min late pressure), came up short at 2:08 / 62 km / TSS 130 with the pressure blocks not evident. The same inversion happened the prior weekend: July 19 planned 1:30 easy, ridden 3:45 / 116 km / TSS 231. Working read: the athlete is substituting large unstructured Sunday volume for the planned weekend structure. The specific adaptation Ghost exposed (race-pace work on tired legs) is being skipped while overall load spikes.
Assessment: mixed, net negative in context. Upside: genuine aerobic stimulus, clearly good legs, and complete power and HR traces recorded (Garmin file present, first clean data since March). Downside: 296 TSS the day after a 130 TSS day, with her cramp history, directly before the July 28 30/30s build session and one week before camp. Risk is to Tuesday's quality, midweek absorption, and arriving at camp already carrying fatigue.
This-week contingencies (message sent to athlete, no TP changes yet): July 27 full rest is mandatory; July 28 30/30s cut to 2 sets if warm-up legs are flat; July 29 heat session drops to easy endurance if Tuesday is laboured; August 1 long ride is the priority session and the sanctioned big day; freelancing paused until camp. Follow-ups requested from athlete: hamstring status during and after, hourly fuelling actuals, any cramp precursors. Open question for planning: whether to formally build a long Sunday group ride into future weeks rather than patching after the fact.
Recovery
Coordinator-consolidated status
No current-day recovery specialist log is present. Freshness, sleep, and carry-forward response from the July 26 absorb ride remain unconfirmed, so July 27 stays fully restorative with no structured training and only optional easy walk or gentle mobility.

Morning plan
Today's Plan
**Readiness:** Unconfirmed, no same-morning check-in, no fresh recovery note, and yesterday's ride outcome is still unconfirmed, so keep today conservative.
**Today:** Rest day. No structured training.
**Recovery focus:**
Keep today simple: normal meals, steady carbohydrate and protein across the day, and consistent fluids. If you want to move, optional easy walk or 10 to 15 min gentle mobility only. Given the heat later, do any easy walk earlier and keep it truly light. Prioritize an early night and let the day absorb the weekend.
**Watch items:**
Any unusual heaviness, low energy, back or SI irritation, or lingering soreness from the weekend. If anything feels off beyond normal recovery fatigue, message me.

Weekly self-assessment
Hey Sidney — quick weekly check-in before I set up the next block.
1) How did the last week land overall: VO2, endurance, CX skills, gym, the long ride, and the absorb day?
2) Any leftovers today I need to account for — sleep, soreness, heaviness, appetite, back/SI, hamstring, ankle, cramping, GI, or anything else that feels off?
3) Are you good with the current direction into next week and camp, or do you want me to keep anything conservative?
Short reply is fine.

Weekend ride review
Yesterday's ride review
The plan Sunday was 1:45 easy to absorb Saturday. You rode 5:07, 174 km, 1,663 m of climbing, TSS 296 at NP 198 W. That is the top of Z2 held for five hours, and the biggest single-day load of your season.
Straight answer on whether this was a good idea: mostly no, with one real upside. The upside: it is a genuine aerobic stimulus, you clearly had the legs, and power and HR recorded cleanly all day, which we have been missing since March. The problem is where it landed. Saturday was the targeted session, 3:30 with late race-pace pressure, and it came up short at 2:08 with the blocks missing. Sunday was meant to absorb, not add. So the week ended with the specific work skipped and a 296 TSS spike in its place, the day before a build week, with your cramp history in the background. Riding hard on tired legs was Saturday's job, in 20-minute doses, on purpose. Five hours of it unplanned is a different cost.
What changes now:
1. Today stays a full rest day. Not optional this time.
2. Tuesday 30/30s: we decide off the warm-up. If the legs are flat, ride 2 sets instead of 3 and tell me before the first set.
3. Wednesday heat session drops to plain easy endurance if Tuesday feels laboured. Heat adaptation works at low intensity; no need to force it.
4. Saturday Aug 1 is now the priority session of the week. If you want a big day, that is the big day. Ride the race-pace blocks as written.
5. Camp starts Aug 3 and the plan assumes you arrive absorbed, not cooked. This week is the buffer, so no more freelance volume until camp.
Also tell me: how were the hamstrings during and after Sunday, what did you actually eat and drink per hour, and were there any cramp warnings in the last two hours?
Last thing: if a long Sunday ride is something you want regularly, say so and I will build the weekends around one properly. Planned reality beats improvisation, and I would rather design for it than patch it afterward.
