Operating Notes

  • Use this file to track race travel, camps, family travel, and work constraints.
  • Specialists should factor this into session design, fuelling, recovery, and gym planning.
  • The Shanghai trip (May 2-16) is the most significant near-term training constraint. Two weeks without cycling means:
    • Phase 2 (Aerobic Development) in the season plan must start after return, not during the trip
    • Running volume should be managed carefully - Sidney is primarily a cyclist, not a runner. Excessive running volume carries injury risk.
    • Hotel gym work can maintain strength patterns but may be limited by available equipment
    • Jet lag recovery (14+ hour time zone shift) will affect the first 3-5 days in Shanghai and the first 3-5 days after return to Edmonton
  • The Apr 25 drive home should be treated as a meaningful fatigue event. Planning for Apr 26 should default to rest or a very easy reset rather than a normal training day.
  • From October 15, the race-season rows come from the operator (marked confirmed) and the race calendar (marked planned). Use the row for the current date for weather and location reporting.
