Retype today link

Update the <code translate="no" v-pre>Today</code>, <code translate="no" v-pre>Nutrition plan</code>, and conditional <code translate="no" v-pre>Workout</code> links in <code translate="no" v-pre>retype.yml</code> so <code translate="no" v-pre>Today</code> points to the current dated daily log under <code translate="no" v-pre>/athlete/logs/daily/YYYY-MM-DD.md</code>, <code translate="no" v-pre>Nutrition plan</code> points to <code translate="no" v-pre>/athlete/logs/daily-nutrition/YYYY-MM-DD.md</code>, and <code translate="no" v-pre>Workout</code> points to <code translate="no" v-pre>/athlete/calendar/YYYY-MM-DD.md</code> only when that calendar file exists. Use when implementing or running the daily Retype link refresh workflow, when creating or maintaining the cron job that updates these links, or when manually correcting the Retype <code translate="no" v-pre>Today</code>, <code translate="no" v-pre>Nutrition plan</code>, or <code translate="no" v-pre>Workout</code> links for the current date.

Use this skill to keep the Today link in retype.yml aligned with the current daily-log date and to manage the conditional Workout link for the current calendar day.

Core rule

Update only the dated Today link target, the Nutrition plan link target, and the conditional Workout link block. Do not rewrite unrelated Retype settings.

Canonical file

  • retype.yml

Deterministic updater

Use the bundled script:

  • skills/retype-today-link/scripts/update_retype_today_link.py

The script:

  • resolves today's date in America/Edmonton
  • updates the Today link to /athlete/logs/daily/YYYY-MM-DD.md
  • updates the Nutrition plan link to /athlete/logs/daily-nutrition/YYYY-MM-DD.md
  • updates the Workout link to /athlete/calendar/YYYY-MM-DD.md when today's calendar file exists
  • removes the Workout link block when today's calendar file does not exist
  • fails if the expected Today or Nutrition plan pattern is missing or duplicated, or if multiple Workout blocks are present

Read references/behavior.md if you need the scheduling rule or guardrails.

Workflow

  1. Confirm retype.yml exists.
  2. Run the updater script.
  3. Verify that the Today link points to the current dated daily-log page.
  4. Verify that the Nutrition plan link points to the current dated nutrition plan page.
  5. Verify that the Workout link points to today's calendar page when athlete/calendar/YYYY-MM-DD.md exists, or is absent when it does not.
  6. If a cron job is being configured, schedule it for 3:00 AM system time using America/Edmonton in this workspace.

Completion standard

The task is complete only when:

  • retype.yml points Today to the correct current dated daily log page
  • retype.yml points Nutrition plan to the correct current dated nutrition plan page
  • retype.yml includes or omits Workout correctly for today's calendar file state
  • the cron job exists if scheduling was requested
  • the logic remains simple and contained in this reusable skill rather than embedded ad hoc in the cron payload
